Description:
Walker Elliott has partnered with our client to locate a Senior Process Engineer with an emphasis in cooling towers water treatment for it headquarters in the Denver, CO area. The position will collaborate with facilities in across North America and ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the cooling towers water treatment process, an essential aspect of our client's operations.
Your recommendations and insights for optimizing cooling towers water treatment will be highly valued. You will work closely with plant and central engineering personnel to troubleshoot any issues related to water treatment, fostering relationships and collaboration with other specialists and plant personnel.
Other duties include:
- Developing a collaborative solution with water treatment vendors ensures the best water chemistry for the cooling towers is always achieved.
- Working with other engineering specialists to create and improve condition-based monitoring algorithms.
- Troubleshooting problems to provide valuable engineering and chemistry perspectives and analysis.
Additionally, you will work with analytics and other technology professionals to evaluate, implement, and optimize advanced monitoring algorithms, work with production sites to take a data-driven approach to developing turnaround scope and support turnaround inspection to ensure water treatment programs have performed per design. You will also identify areas of repeat failure and engage stakeholders to complete root cause failure analysis and manage collection, analysis, and interpretation of data related to cooling towers water treatment processes.
Staying up-to-date with new technologies and trends in data monitoring and water treatment is crucial for the success of this role.
What you will bring:
The following is a list of requirements for a job position related to water treatment in a large-scale chemical plant with a high-pressure steam system:
Requirements:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, advanced Power Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in cooling towers water treatment within a large-scale chemical plant with a high-pressure steam system (at least 1500 psi).
- Experience with ammonia, hydrogen, ethylene, and methanol plants is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite programs.
- Experience with root cause failure analysis.
- Knowledge of industrial cooling towers water treatment theory and commonly engineered solutions is essential.
- Knowledge of safety, reliability, efficiency concepts, and water chemistry related to raw water, boiler feedwater, cooling water, and wastewater is preferred.
- Experience with French Creek modeling and real-time systems such as AVEVA Unified Operations Center/System Platform/Wonderware, and OSI PI is preferred.
